Due to WEEE and Unclarified RoHS Rules, July 31st Will Be the Last Shipping Date to the EC( European Community)! |
|
WEEE requires that essentially all Electrical and
Electronic Equipment be eliminated from the waste stream and that the
manufacturer or distributor be responsible for its recycling or
elimination. As this is impractical for us we will stop all shipments to the EC as of
1 August 2005.
Also since the Heliotek HTE-1 was designed over two years ago, its electronic components are uncertified with regard to the only material that MIGHT be in our product: Lead. Therefore, AS OF 1 AUGUST 2005 we will not ship the HTE-1 to the EC. On ROHS, there are no set standards yet for determining and declaring compliance with removal of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and 2 brominated flame retardants. A valuable resource is a new website on WEEE and ROHS implementation by member states, prepared by the U.S. mission in Brussels.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause. Should you
have any questions, please contact
customerservice@heliotekinc.com . Thank You.
